Diani marine parks......

Diani/Chale Marine Reserve.

Gazetted as a marine reserve in 1994 it covers some 250 hectares from the River Mwachemwa in the north to just south of Chale Paradise Island and encompasses 36 recognized dive sites.

The coast line is fringed by a coral reef that lies 0.5 - 1.5 km offshore. The reef slopes down to about 30m depth. The Diani/Chale Marine Reserve is becoming increasingly well known for what might be considered the marine 'Big 5', dolphins, whales, whale sharks, manta rays, and turtles.

As well as the 'Big 5', the marine reserve has an abundance of marine life, consisting of more tropical fish species than almost anywhere else in the world. Truly some of the best scuba diving in the world.
