Diving The Crab
Founded in 1985 by Mario Scianna, Diving The crab is the largest and most comprehensive diving operation in East Africa. Having started with only a Cessi Canoe for the first 6 months, Mario's dedication to professionalism and
service has nurtured the growth of his company to its present state of 8 dive boats, 200 sets of equipment, 16
instructors, 12 dive guides and the only base in East Africa to offer Nitrox and
Rebreather diving. Since 1995 when Mario branched off into building handmade wooden
boats, (www.handmadeboats.com) the daily operation of Diving The Crab has been taken
care of by Ralph and Sandra Winter.
