Snorkeling......

Would you prefer to to partake in the fast growing sport of snorkelling.

SNORKELLING with PilliPipa.

Would you prefer to partake in snorkelling? For experienced snorkellers as well as beginners and weak swimmers. Pilli Pipa is the only dhow trip to take such small numbers to the Kisite Marine Park and therefore has built up an excellent reputation for personal and professional service. There are bouyancy jackets, twin valve snorkels with comfit mouthpieces for easier snorkelling, a wide range of silicone masks, and fins for all, we provide prescription masks and underwater cameras for hire. Our crew have been with us for years and are good at helping with the fitting of snorkelling gear and guiding swimmers along the reef. Safety is our main priority and to make sure the client has an enjoyable day, it's actually a good learning experience for beginners and non swimmers. Dolphins are seen on a regular basis. Snorkellers have aslo been lucky enough to see whales and whale sharks but there is plenty of other marine life to see. You will visit two snorkelling sites weather permiting and depending on on the tide you may see the famous sand island. Tea,coffee and biscuits are offered on arrival onto the dhow. Soft drinks and snacks are availlable mid morning on the dhow. After snorkelling we head back to Wasini Island for a late lunch. Lunch on Wasini Island with Pilli Pipa is one of the highlights of the day, prepared and served by smiling Swahili ladies . We take pride in serving a fish soup fit for a sultan served with chapati, crispy goujons of fresh fish, flash fried and served with a coconut and lime dipping sauce and Indian Ocean mangrove crab are amongst the items on the menu. All included in the price together with wine, beer and soft drinks. This will truly be a meal to remember and you have time to relax over a coffee and patisserie and browse through our marine literature to identify what you have seen or do some bird watching. Then it is time to head back to shimoni, sailing over the channel if weather permits. You will have time to visit the Shimoni cave on the way home, the small fee goes towards helping the local community with projects such as school lunches and improving the clinics. Transport is by bus or minibus between your hotel and Shimoni. Far from the maddening crowd.
